Next-Generation Retinoid (HPR) Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR)
Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR) is a retinoic acid ester, a new-generation retinoid. The manufacturer states that it binds directly to the skin's retinoid receptors, without an enzymatic conversion step. It supports epidermal renewal, smooths the skin and reduces the look of wrinkles and discoloration. According to Christina materials, products with HPR are not used during pregnancy, and a sunscreen with SPF must be used during the day.
RENEWAL0.2% HPR: efficacy comparable to 0.5% retinol in reducing wrinkles without irritation (in vivo, n=30, Hexacosanoyl Lab 2018).
An ester derivative of retinoic acid — it binds directly to RAR/RXR receptors without metabolic conversion (retinol → retinaldehyde → retinoic acid). It stimulates type I collagen synthesis and epidermal renewal.
