Because they are water-soluble, they act on the surface of the epidermis, where they loosen the bonds between dead corneocytes and initiate the process of chemical exfoliation. They stimulate collagen synthesis, accelerate cell renewal and improve the penetration of other active ingredients. They effectively smooth wrinkles, reduce discolouration, even out skin tone and give the skin a fresh, youthful look. Mechanism of action
Hydrolysis of the desmosomal bonds between corneocytes by lowering pH. They activate fibroblasts to synthesise new collagen and GAGs (hyaluronic acid). They require SPF in the morning.
Hydrolyzed rice protein is a natural ingredient obtained from rice grains through controlled enzymatic hydrolysis, which breaks proteins down into small, low-molecular-weight peptides. It is rich in essential amino acids (lysine, leucine, arginine), the building blocks of keratin and collagen — the main structural proteins of the epidermis. It penetrates deep into the skin, where it rebuilds the hydrolipid barrier, strengthens the structure and increases resistance to damage. It also acts as a natural moisturising factor (NMF), retaining moisture in the intermediate layers of the epidermis. Mechanism of action
Low-molecular-weight rice peptides (5-15 kDa) act as an NMF. Amino acids (lysine, arginine) serve as a substrate for keratin and collagen synthesis. They form a tightening film that instantly smooths the skin.
Squalane is a saturated hydrocarbon obtained through the hydrogenation of squalene (a component naturally present in skin sebum) — its stable, non-oxidising form. Structurally identical to epidermal lipids, it is therefore exceptionally well accepted by the skin, absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy film. It effectively rebuilds the hydrolipid barrier, prevents water loss (TEWL), smooths the skin and gives it a silky softness. Mechanism of action
