Low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (LMW HA) is a special form of hyaluronic acid with a molecular weight below 50 kDa, which thanks to its small molecule size effectively crosses the stratum corneum barrier. While classic high molecular weight hyaluronic acid works mainly on the surface, the low molecular weight form penetrates deep into the skin — all the way to the layers of the dermis. There it binds water, fills wrinkles from within, stimulates fibroblasts to produce native HA and collagen, and delivers anti-aging benefits at a structural level. It has been clinically proven that regular use increases skin hydration, reduces fine lines and improves skin density. Ideal in intensive anti-wrinkle products for mature, dehydrated skin and skin with structural wrinkles.
