Ferulic acid is an organic phenolic acid that occurs naturally in plant cell walls (mainly in grains, rice, oats and apples), where it serves as their natural shield against UV radiation. In cosmetics it is used primarily as a powerful next-generation antioxidant — significantly more effective than vitamin C or E alone. It shows an exceptional synergistic effect: combining ferulic acid with vitamins C and E strengthens their photo-protection up to 8-fold, which is why it is an indispensable ingredient in antioxidant daytime formulas. It effectively protects against photoaging, reduces hyperpigmentation, counteracts oxidative stress and prevents the formation of wrinkles. Ideal in SPF products, antioxidant daytime serums and for skin exposed to UV radiation and urban pollution.

Kojic acid is a natural active ingredient obtained from Aspergillus oryzae fungi — originally discovered in the Japanese fermentation of sake rice. It works by inhibiting tyrosinase — the key enzyme in melanin synthesis in melanocytes — thereby effectively brightening existing hyperpigmentation and preventing the formation of new spots. It has strong antioxidant action, neutralizing free radicals responsible for photoaging and the fixation of hyperpigmentation. It effectively reduces sun spots, melasma, hormonal and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Recommended for skin with hyperpigmentation, photoaging and after dermatological treatments — an alternative to aggressive hydroquinone with a better safety profile, a key ingredient of Christina's Illustrious line.

Alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) is a unique universal antioxidant — one of the few active ingredients soluble in both water and fats, which is why it protects skin cells both inside and on their membranes. It has the ability to regenerate other antioxidants (vitamins C and E, glutathione and coenzyme Q10), thereby strengthening the skin's entire defence system against free radicals. It effectively reduces wrinkles, improves skin texture, evens out skin tone and supports microcirculation. It also has a gentle exfoliating and anti-inflammatory action — recommended for skin with photoaging, hyperpigmentation and signs of fatigue. An ideal ingredient in advanced anti-age products for mature, dull skin exposed to pollution and oxidative stress.

How to use
Can I combine this product with other Christina lines?
Yes. All Christina lines are designed for compatibility. You'll get the best results by following a complete routine from a single line — the products mutually reinforce each other's effects. You can also combine products from different lines (e.g. a Forever Young serum + a Muse cream). One exception: introduce retinoid and AHA/BHA products gradually and do not apply them on the same evening — this may irritate the skin. Always use a sunscreen the next morning. Store Christina products at room temperature (15–25°C), away from direct sunlight and heat sources. After opening, the product retains its full efficacy for the period marked with the PAO symbol (e.g. 12M = 12 months) on the packaging. Products with active vitamins (C, retinol) should be stored away from light.

How should I apply Christina cosmetics correctly?
Apply Christina cosmetics in order from the lightest to the richest texture: toner, serum, cream, oil. Apply to clean, slightly damp skin using circular motions from the center of the face outward. A full routine takes 3–5 minutes, twice a day.
